About the Artist (Cliff Notes)
My name is Shayla Moose, and I am a lover of creating art. I remember drawing on walls and anything else I could get my hands on growing up.
Remembering the joy I got as a child from playing make believe and dress-up as a child, pushed me into theatre where my passion to design and create was ignited.
I received my BFA from Tarleton State University in 2003, and continued on to graduate school at University of the North Carolina School of the Arts.
Life had thrown so many curve-balls at me, during the most stressful time of my life, that I poured myself into the creative process. Trying to create what my mind could only imagine.
I've since continued to create art and design in theatre, a passion I hope to pass on to my daughter, and rely on mythology, legends, myths, folklore, and fairy-tales for inspiration. I believe that they help shape our world, evoke creativity and encourage us to use our imaginations.
